Pace & Difficulty

All paces welcome* ⓘ

Our experiences are about discovery and connection, not speed. We tailor groups by pace, with guides and regrouping points, so no one is left behind.

The longest run on this experience is 16 km, and before that, we will help you adapt to Mexico City’s altitude conditions with a warm-up city run on the first day. If you can comfortably run that distance at your own pace, you're well-prepared to join us.

Distance:
Ranging daily from 9 to 16km *Review daily distances on itinerary.

Terrain: Expect a diverse range of running terrain, from urban roads to forest trails. We'll experience two city runs on paved roads—the first serves as a gentle introduction to help you acclimate to Mexico City's 2,240-meter altitude. The Chapultepec trail combines forest sections with easy, non-technical trails that feature some steep portions but remain accessible to most fitness levels. Our New Year's Day forest run features more challenging terrain with steeper ascents, muddy conditions, and forest trails.

We’ll begin our journey in the vibrant heart of the Coyoacán neighborhood, gathering at our charming boutique accommodation before setting off on an unforgettable Urban Sunset Run. This inaugural 9-kilometer adventure through Mexico City’s southern neighborhoods serves as the perfect introduction, helping us acclimate to the city’s elevation while immersing ourselves in its authentic rhythm.

Moving at a relaxed, mindful pace, we’ll conclude our first run at our Welcome Dinner venue, setting the stage for this special end-of-year edition of our Mexico City experience.

A delicious farm-to-table brunch courtesy of our local hosts follows.

Later in the afternoon, we’ll embark on a scenic 16-kilometer running adventure across Chapultepec Park, Mexico City’s green heart. After our journey amidst this urban wilderness, we’ll return to our accommodation to prepare for a fabulous New Year’s Eve dinner celebration, embracing the transition into 2027 with our adventure community.

After savoring a delicious local breakfast, we’ll journey to a memorable experience—an authentic temazcal sweat lodge ceremony. This ancient purification ritual becomes the perfect sanctuary for our New Year meditation and reflection workshop, creating space to contemplate our purpose and collaborate through meaningful start-of-the-year intentions. The afternoon remains free for wandering, resting, and absorbing the energy of fresh beginnings.

December in Mexico City is characterized by mild temperatures and minimal precipitation. Daily temperatures typically range from highs of 68-71°F (20°C) to nighttime lows of 41-45°F (5-7°C). Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we gather on the ancestral lands of the Mexica, Otomí, Mazahua, Mixtec, Zapotec, and many other Indigenous peoples who have lived in and around this valley for millennia. Mexico City stands on the ancient lake beds of Anáhuac, once home to vibrant ecosystems and to Tenochtitlán, the capital of the Mexica world.

We honor the resilience of Indigenous peoples who continue to live, work, and create here, and whose cultures, languages, and traditions endure despite centuries of colonization. We recognize their ongoing struggles for justice and sovereignty, and commit ourselves to walking these lands with awareness, respect, and humility.
